An excellent opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded lawyer to join the growing Conflicts & New Business team of a leading US law firm in London. This is a highly visible, stakeholder-facing role that sits at the intersection of legal risk, client strategy and new business. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and colleagues across multiple jurisdictions, helping to ensure the firm can take on complex matters while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Why Apply?
- Join a growing conflicts team at an exciting stage of expansion
- A commercial, advisory-focused position with regular interaction with partners and international colleagues
- Opportunity for junior lawyers looking to transition from fee-earning roles who want a strategic, business-facing position
- Six-figure salary and strong benefits package plus hybrid working
Based in the London office, the Conflicts Lawyer will be part of the firm’s global Conflicts & New Business function, working closely with colleagues across the US, Europe and other international offices. The team plays a vital role in enabling the firm to take on new clients and matters by assessing conflicts of interest and ensuring compliance with professional conduct rules and internal policies.
This is a highly collaborative and stakeholder-facing role. Rather than being purely administrative, the position focuses on providing clear, commercially pragmatic advice to partners and lawyers on conflicts issues, client onboarding and new business intake.
About You
This role would suit a confident and commercially aware qualified lawyer (1 year + PQE) who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and advising on practical solutions. It is particularly well suited to junior lawyers seeking to move away from fee-earning into a strategic risk and compliance role.
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong analytical ability and sound professional judgement
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage directly with partners and senior stakeholders
- A commercial mindset, balancing risk considerations with business needs
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing international law firm environment
Previous conflicts or new business intake experience would be advantageous but is not essential, and strong junior lawyers moving from fee-earning roles are encouraged to apply.
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing team within a leading US firm, working on complex international matters and helping to shape how new business is assessed, managed and onboarded across multiple jurisdictions.
