This role sits at the heart of the firm’s new business intake and compliance operations, with responsibility for supervising a team of analysts and ensuring the smooth delivery of conflicts clearance, AML due diligence and matter opening processes. Alongside managing workflow, quality and performance, the Team Leader will remain technically involved in complex and time-sensitive matters, supporting both the team and wider business in meeting regulatory and commercial requirements. The position works closely with senior compliance leadership and forms part of a well-established international function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor and develop a team responsible for conflicts checks, AML reviews and new matter intake
  • Manage team workflow, ensuring deadlines and service standards are consistently met
  • Conduct and oversee conflicts analysis, client due diligence and risk assessments
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex or sensitive matters
  • Liaise directly with partners and stakeholders to gather information and resolve issues efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory obligations
  • Support process improvements, training initiatives and operational best practice

Candidate Profile

This role would suit an experienced AML and conflicts professional currently operating at supervisor or team leader level within a law firm environment. You will bring strong technical knowledge of conflicts and AML processes, experience overseeing or mentoring others, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders. Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential, along with a proactive and collaborative approach.
