If you’re a Corporate Finance Lawyer but a people person at heart, someone who thrives on building strong relationships, supporting others, and creating meaningful career development experiences, this is the role for you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the London office of a prestigious international law firm in a high-impact position focused on the development and success of lawyers within its Corporate Finance and Securities practice. If you’re looking to transition from a fee-earning role within a capital markets team, this position offers the opportunity to move away from the billable hour and instead focus on shaping careers, strengthening teams, and driving talent strategy at the highest level.

The Role

Working at the core of the London-based Corporate Finance and Securities team, you’ll partner closely with partners, associates, legal assistants, and the wider talent team to drive professional development and team cohesion. This role is all about people: understanding their goals, supporting their progress, and ensuring the team is resourced and motivated to deliver at the highest level.

Ideal for someone looking to:

  • Transition from a transactional or capital markets fee-earning role into a people-focused position;

  • Play a strategic role in talent management while remaining close to legal practice. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Build strong relationships across the practice to understand individual strengths, career goals, and development needs.

  • Coordinate work allocation, team resourcing, and annual leave to balance business needs with individual growth.

  • Oversee performance review processes and support regular feedback conversations.

  • Lead on recruitment efforts for summer associates, lateral hires, and law clerks from global and US programmes.

  • Collaborate with training teams and external providers to deliver bespoke development programmes.

  • Support wellbeing, inclusion, and team-building initiatives.

  • Work with HR to manage onboarding, bar exams, illness support, and exit processes.

  • Take part in firm-wide talent and development meetings and strategic projects.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience as a practising lawyer, ideally within a capital markets or transactional practice in a law firm. You’ll be highly people-focused, with a genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed, and will have demonstrable experience in managing people. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the confidence to influence at all levels. You’ll be organised, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a resilient and adaptable mindset. Confidence in working with data and financial metrics is important, as is the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive team culture.

This role offers a truly unique opportunity to stay connected to legal practice while stepping into a strategic, people-centric role with real impact. If you're ready to put your legal experience to use in a way that supports others and shapes the future of a globally recognised team, we’d love to hear from you.
