Reporting to the Head of Corporate Risk & Governance, this position sits within a central function that oversees legal and regulatory risk across the firm’s global footprint. You’ll provide high-level support on client terms, supplier contracts, governance documents, and policy development, while advising on regulatory and compliance matters. This is a fast-paced and autonomous role with ample opportunity to contribute to strategic risk initiatives and cross-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate client engagement letters, standard terms of business, and outside counsel guidelines
  • Review and advise on bespoke client terms, supplier contracts, consultancy agreements, and procurement arrangements
  • Draft and maintain firm policies (e.g. anti-bribery, insider dealing, hospitality & gifts)
  • Advise on SRA regulatory requirements and assist with regulatory engagement and firm audits
  • Handle complex conflicts issues and provide support to the Conflicts team
  • Contribute to strategic firm initiatives, including new office openings and risk management reviews

Who This Would Suit

This role would suit a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE, ideally gained in a commercial, corporate, or in-house legal role. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills are essential, along with a good understanding of the SRA regulatory framework. You should be confident working with autonomy, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
