As a New Business Supervisor, working alongside the Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day conflicts and new business workflow. Your duties will include monitoring team workloads, allocating assignments based on capacity and skills, activating legal matters, and providing training and mentoring. Additionally, you will perform quality control checks, provide feedback, assist with recruitment, and facilitate communication between analysts and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and activate legal matters, ensuring quality control and providing feedback to develop team skills in conflicts and anti-money laundering (AML) analysis.
- Support the Office of the General Counsel by assisting in all aspects of new business intake for both new and existing clients. This encompasses conflict searches, opening entries, fee approvals, and matter activation.
- Maintain direct interactions with the New Business Acceptance Committee and senior partners, contributing significantly to matter lifecycle management and special approvals.
- Engage in recruitment, serve as a liaison between analysts and management, and lead training and mentoring initiatives.
With a salary of up to £75k per annum, this position is ideal for someone with at least three years of experience in a conflicts role at a respected law firm, with a strong knowledge of AML processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency in legal and conflict management software. They must excel at working under pressure, managing multiple tasks efficiently, and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
