Working closely with colleagues across private client, contentious trusts and estates and family law, the role focuses on supporting technical excellence, consistency and efficiency across the team, while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining the team’s precedents, templates and knowhow
- Tracking legal developments and communicating key updates
- Designing and delivering internal training and knowhow sessions
- Providing technical support on complex or specialist matters
- Supporting learning and development for trainees and new joiners
- Contributing to business development, thought leadership and internal projects
- Supporting process improvement and legal technology initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
This role would suit an established tax and trusts knowledge lawyer, or a tax and trusts fee earner (5+ PQE) looking to transition into a knowledge role, with training and support provided. As the sole Knowledge Lawyer for the Tax & Trusts team, the successful candidate will be confident operating with autonomy while building trusted relationships across the practice.
Candidates will have strong private client experience, ideally covering tax and estate planning, trusts and estate administration, alongside excellent communication, drafting and research skills. A clear passion for legal technology, innovation and improving ways of working is essential, with the ability to proactively drive efficiencies, enhance knowledge-sharing and support the team in delivering an outstanding client service.
This is a hybrid Surrey-based role, with two days per week in the office (pro-rated for part-time). Full-time or part-time applications (minimum three days) are welcomed.
