A rare opportunity has arisen for a talented pensions lawyer to take on a part-time Knowledge Lawyer position within a top-tier legal team. This is a highly visible, intellectually stimulating role that offers a chance to shape the direction of legal knowledge and training within a leading international firm’s pensions practice.

Why Apply?

  • Prestigious work: Be part of a respected pensions team advising major corporates, trustees, and financial institutions.
  • High-impact role: Contribute directly to knowledge strategy, training programmes, and thought leadership that influence both internal teams and external clients.
  • Collaborative culture: Work closely with partners, associates, and business services specialists in a supportive and professional environment.

This is a part-time, (2 days a week), 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Pensions Partners and Head of Knowledge, you will work closely with an existing Knowledge Counsel to lead the development and dissemination of know-how, maintain legal resources, coordinate training, and contribute to the team's external client-facing content. The role will also involve analysing legal developments and identifying opportunities for the team to provide market-leading insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality knowledge resources, including model documents, precedents, internal guidance, and training materials for lawyers at all levels.
  • Coordinate and contribute to client-facing content such as seminars, webinars, newsletters, podcasts, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Monitor and analyse legal and regulatory developments to support horizon scanning, client updates, and strategic insights.
  • Respond to legal queries, assist with research, and maintain the team’s intranet and knowledge systems.
  • Collaborate with partners, research services, and business development teams to manage knowledge subscriptions and identify opportunities for client engagement.
  • Support firmwide knowledge initiatives and foster knowledge-sharing across teams.

This position would suit a qualified pensions lawyer with at least five years’ post-qualification experience, ideally at senior associate level or above. While prior experience in a knowledge lawyer role is advantageous, it is not essential. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and legal drafter, with strong organisational skills, commercial awareness, and a genuine interest in legal know-how and professional development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and collaborative pensions lawyer to take on a pivotal knowledge role in a highly regarded team. Offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience,  you’ll play a key part in maintaining legal excellence and supporting the continued success of a dynamic and client-focused practice.
