Our client, a prestigious US firm, is seeking an Information Governance (IG) Manager, (based in London) to join their global risk and compliance team. This role will be responsible for London and EMEA, taking the established US model and expanding it into London and Europe. Collaborating with the risk and IT departments, this role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, financial, and operational record keeping requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an Information Governance Programme with the Global Director.

  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to identify needs and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain and update governance policies, standards, and guidelines.

  • Support data remediation projects and process automation with IT.

  • Ensure compliance with the document management system (DMS).

  • Manage data protection and privacy risks.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information management, IT, library science, or a related field.

  • Desirable certifications: Information Governance Professional (IGP), CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPP/US.

  • Management experience in information governance, preferably in a law firm.

  • Expertise in information governance principles and electronic records management.
