Are you an experienced construction lawyer looking for a role with impact, variety and work-life balance? This is a unique opportunity to join a leading international law firm as a Knowledge Lawyer within their Construction and Engineering group. Working four days per week, you’ll be at the heart of the team’s training and development, drawing primarily on your non-contentious expertise while also engaging with elements of contentious work.

This position offers:

  • A focus on training and mentoring, with a real opportunity to influence associate development.
  • The chance to work on high-profile, complex projects spanning real estate, infrastructure and commercial development.
  • A supportive and collaborative culture where knowledge is valued as a driver of client service and professional growth.

The Role

As Knowledge Lawyer, your primary focus will be on planning, delivering and evolving the group’s training programme, ensuring lawyers at all levels have the resources and insights they need to thrive. You’ll also:

  • Keep the team up to date on legislative and case law developments.
  • Assist with internal education and training for associates and trainees.
  • Develop and maintain precedents, guidance notes and know-how resources.
  • Provide support to fee earners in navigating complex issues and applying best practice.

The Candidate

The firm is seeking a lawyer who combines strong technical foundations with a passion for developing others. To be successful, you will have:

  • At least five years’ PQE in non-contentious construction law (experience of contentious matters advantageous).
  • A keen interest in education, training and knowledge management.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage colleagues across levels.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with confidence in delivering high-quality, practical guidance.

This role will suit either an existing Knowledge Lawyer or a practising Associate looking to transition into a training-focused position.

For the right candidate, this is a chance to move into a people-focused role where your construction expertise drives training, knowledge and development. In return, you’ll enjoy a supportive culture and a competitive six-figure salary for a four-day week, balancing professional influence with personal flexibility.
