As the Knowledge Lawyer for the Private Wealth & Tax (PWT) group, you’ll lead on developing legal content, training programmes, and strategic know-how initiatives that elevate both internal capability and client service delivery. This is a central role in supporting the group’s work advising on the preservation, governance, and tax-efficient structuring of wealth across multiple jurisdictions. You'll also collaborate closely with other knowledge lawyers across the wider Private Department and the firm globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and implement knowledge strategy in line with the department’s objectives
• Create, manage and maintain precedents, practice notes, know-how, and client guides
• Design and deliver internal legal training and client-facing knowledge sessions
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, providing insight and horizon-scanning updates
• Draft and publish client alerts, thought leadership, and internal communications
• Provide timely support on technical legal queries from fee-earners
• Support business development initiatives through targeted legal content
• Collaborate with Risk & Compliance and partners to embed best practice and manage risk
• Maintain and develop knowledge resources across the firm’s intranet and platforms

Who This Would Suit

This role would suit a highly experienced private wealth lawyer (ideally 10+ PQE) with deep expertise in UK and cross-border tax planning for individuals and trustees. Whether you’re already a Knowledge Lawyer or a senior-level fee-earner looking to transition, you’ll need strong legal acumen, excellent drafting and communication skills, and a genuine interest in legal training, writing, and the development of others. A commercial mindset, adaptability, and confidence using or exploring legal tech will be key to success in this role.
