This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to join a leading UK law firm’s Risk and Compliance team, playing a vital role in managing supplier, technology, and data protection risks across the business. Working at the intersection of law, technology, and compliance, this position offers the chance to influence firm-wide strategy and gain hands-on experience in emerging areas such as generative AI.
Why Apply
- Diverse, high-impact work – advise on supplier and technology contracts, data protection, and innovation projects.
- Career progression – join a firm known for developing its people and supporting long-term career growth.
- Collaborative culture – work closely with a forward-thinking Risk and Compliance team and senior stakeholders.
- Flexible hybrid model – enjoy a healthy work-life balance with 2–3 days in the Bristol office.
You’ll support the firm’s risk and compliance functions by reviewing and negotiating supplier and technology contracts, ensuring that third-party relationships meet the firm’s legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. You’ll also advise on data protection, support new technology initiatives such as generative AI, and help implement best practices across business services functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate supplier and SaaS contract terms, ensuring alignment with firm policies.
- Conduct supplier due diligence and advise on data protection and information security compliance.
- Provide practical recommendations to reduce contractual and operational risk exposure.
- Support the firm’s responsible procurement and ISO-aligned risk management practices.
- Contribute to the firm’s adoption of new technologies through pilot projects and risk assessments.
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and assist with implementing policy updates.
- Deliver training, raise awareness, and support internal reporting and audit processes.
You’ll be a dynamic and proactive lawyer with a commercial mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for problem-solving. With at least two years’ PQE gained in a law firm or in-house environment, you’ll have proven experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and a keen interest in technology and compliance. Experience with SaaS contracts and data protection is advantageous, but not essential. You’ll be confident engaging senior stakeholders, able to manage competing priorities, and enjoy collaborating in a team that values initiative, adaptability, and innovation.

You’ll be part of a supportive team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, making this a rewarding next step for a lawyer ready to take their career to the next level.
