The Banking Knowledge Lawyer will play a central role in supporting a sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional banking team advising banks, funds, asset managers, corporates and public bodies on complex finance matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining and enhancing core banking precedents and standard documentation
  • Supporting and delivering AI and document automation initiatives within the banking practice
  • Responding to know-how queries and producing guidance on key banking and finance topics
  • Managing and contributing to knowledge, innovation and strategic projects
  • Collaborating closely with partners, fee earners and international colleagues to support best practice

The ideal candidate

This role would suit a banking lawyer with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE, gained within a banking practice at a leading law firm, who is looking to move into a more strategic, knowledge-focused position. The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of projects, with a genuine interest in innovation and how technology can enhance legal delivery. Previous exposure to AI, automation or coding is advantageous but not essential. The team is open to both fee-earners looking to transition into a knowledge role and experienced Knowledge Lawyers. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across a diverse, high-performing team are key, as is flexibility and a pragmatic approach in a dynamic environment.
